Annual IT-in-education showcase BETT 2002 opens today at Olympia, London.
The exhibition - which runs from the January 9 to 12 - will host over 500 products and services from educational suppliers. Doors open at 10am and shut at 6pm over the four-day show, except on Saturday when doors close at 4:30pm.
One of the show's features is a Policy in Practice area, which tenders free advice and guidance about purchasing goods. BETT 2001 attracted over 400 exhibiting companies and more than 20,000 visitors from 76 countries.
The results of the BETT Awards will be announced later this evening. Now in its fourth year, the BETT education awards are presented across thirteen categories ranging from Hardware and Educational Software to Online Learning Resources and Innovation. Winners are determined by votes from the teaching community. Apple has won hardware and software awards in previous years.
Apple has been nominated for two BETT Awards in two categories, for DVD authoring software iDVD in the Secondary Software Tools category, and iBook wireless mobile classroom in the ICT Hardware – Primary category.
