Speakers for the Games Developers Conference (GDC) have been announced.

This event takes place from March 19-23 in San Jose, California, and covers gaming for computers, consoles, mobiles, arcades and online.

With over 300 classes and discussions, a selection of game development topics will be taught by leading industry experts.

One key speaker is Sony Computer Entertainment vice president Shin'ichi Okamoto, who was behind the launch of the PlayStation and PlayStation 2 consoles. He will discuss Sony's research and development processes.

Comic author Scott McLoud, and co-founder of Maxis Will Wright who made Sim City will deliver an address called When Maps Collide.

Senior PDI/Dreamworks animator Nick Walker will talk about the making of Shrek.

The GDC is expected to attract 10,000 attendees. Registration takes place online.
