Blizzard Entertainment has released Diablo II.

The game, the follow-up to the successful Diablo, already has initial orders of two million copies. Diablo sold 12 million copies worldwide, and was the number one selling computer role-playing game in 1997.

A quest-based, good-versus-evil game, Diablo II is set in a world where the hero battles with infernal powers. Mike Morhaime, president and co-founder of Blizzard, said: "Diablo II is our most ambitious undertaking yet."

The game features five character classes, each with special skills and abilities. There are four towns to explore on a randomly generated world, filled with over 20 adventure scenarios. Up to eight players can take part in multiplayer games, with servers in North America, Europe and Asia.

The Mac version of the game will be released later this year. For more information visit Blizzard.
