Apple has released an update for its Bluetooth firmware for D-Link USB Adaptors (revision B2 or later), and Apple internal Bluetooth modules on PowerBooks and Power Macs.

Bluetooth Firmware Updater 1.1 provides improvements in the update installation process, better performance when waking the computer from sleep, and support for additional key commands during startup.

Apple claims the firmware update will also improve connectivity between Macs and the Apple Wireless Keyboard and Mouse.

Apple warns that applying this firmware updater to a D-Link USB to Bluetooth adaptor will make it incompatible with non-Macintosh systems, and also highlights that the Firmware Updater will work only with D-Link USB Adapters (revision B2 or later), and Apple internal Bluetooth modules on PowerBooks and PowerMacs.

The update requires Mac OS X 10.2.8 or above.
