Corel has released the Bryce 4.1 update, as the company promised last week.
The free update is available for download from Corel’s Web site. It contains enhancements to existing features, and offers new features that hint at what Bryce users can look forward to when Bryce 5.0 is released next year, says Corel.
Ian LeGrow, Corel vice-president said: “We are delivering on our promise to release a free update for Bryce by the end of the summer and reaffirming our commitment to Macintosh users."
Version 4.1 includes new mapping modes, and hosts the ability to import and export Microsoft’s DirectX 3D files. A new feature is the Custom Starfield map, which replaces randomly generated star maps with a custom map, which represents the stars as seen from Earth.
Corel has also promised updates to the rest of the products purchased from MetaCreations, including Kai’s Power Tools and Vector Effects. The company also revealed that a beta preview of Corel Painter 6.1 will be released for registered Painter users in the next few weeks.
