BT has slashed the price of its business wireless-network service.
BT Wireless Network 1250 – which creates a wireless network between up to 10 computers now costs £100 instead of £160.
The package includes a BT Wireless Network 1250 ADSL modem and offers Internet monitoring tools and a professional strength firewall.
The technology is based on the 802.11b standard rather than the 11g standard Apple bases its AirPort technology on. Apple claims the 11g wireless standard allows data rates at nearly five times those of 11b. The AirPort Extreme Base Station serves up to 50 Mac and Windows users simultaneously, but costs £149.
BT Wireless Network 1250 requires Mac OS 8.6 or above, and OS X 10.1 and above.
