BTV Edit has been given a major overhaul and updated to version 4.1.
Improvements in this "significant" revision of the UK-born product include the introduction of a time-lapse capture feature.
The application has been built to view and capture video from any video-input source, in either full screen or in a window. It has been successfully tested with many different video input hardware products, including various video-input cards, TV cards, built-in video, USB, and FireWire video sources.
Other enhancements in the program include an export feature – which permits custom video and sound compression settings – and standard QuickTime filters (including sharpen, emboss, grain, colour balance and so on). It can also export to DV streams.
The application permits the choice of a scratch disk to specify where to store temporary files. A key shortcut has also been added which can toggle between video formats – PAL, NTSC and SECAM.
The application is $25, and is available for download.
