Burton Snowboards has launched a backpack and three jackets, all with built-in iPod controls.
The Burton Amp Pack is the world's first backpack with an integrated iPod control system. It features a iPod storage pocket, a headphone port located on the shoulder strap, a side-entry laptop compartment and padded ergonomic shoulder straps.
Apple's iPod product line manager Stan Ng said: "Whether at the beach, on campus or on the mountain, active iPod users can have control of up to 10,000 songs right from the Amp Pack. The Amp Pack is one of the coolest accessories we've seen for the iPod and really brings a new meaning to on-the-go listening."
Burton has also launched the Radar 2 Layer iPod Jacket – the first snowboard jacket for women to include iPod controls. Two new men's jackets have also been launched - the Ronin 2 Layer and the Burton Shield.
Burton’s iPod jackets are constructed with breathable, two-layer waterproof fabric, and the company claims they are machine washable once the iPod interface module has been removed. The jackets incorporate a flexible iPod control pad on the sleeve and a EVA padded chest pocket in which to store the iPod.
Burton believes wearable electronics are the next revolution in the textile and electronics industry.
The Burton iPod gear is compatible with the latest generation of iPods. The new products are available in the US throughout November. Burton claims that some Burton Authorized Dealers in Europe will also carry the new Burton iPod line. Click here to find a Burton dealer near you.
