Beleaguered software publisher, Corel, has cancelled its appearance at Macworld Expo, New York, citing financial problems.

Explaining its non-appearance at the show, Corel spokeswoman, Meredith Dundas, said the company was trying to save money by focusing on particular products, rather than its entire range. It was widely hoped in the Mac industry that Corel would appear at the Expo, if only to answer questions from Mac-based users of its products.

Ex-MetaCreations products owned by Corel include Painter, Kai’s Power Tools and Bryce. Corel announced, Tuesday, that an update to Bryce would be made available later this year.
