Pfeiffer Consulting has released an in-depth report that examines the cost and productivity differences between Mac and Windows systems.

The 200-page report, 'Macintosh/Windows: Cost and Productivity Analysis', is based on international market research in the US and five European companies.

Pfeiffer Consulting calls it one of the, "most thorough research projects in the industry".

"The report provides a strategic overview of the pros and cons of the two platforms from a total-cost-of-ownership perspective in a life-cycle concept," says Per Arne Fernsund, business developer at the Stampen Group in Sweden.

The total cost of ownership includes purchase costs, cost of deployment and administration, as well as security-related costs.

The report itself costs €2,399, but is currently available at a promotional discount price of €1,999.
