DigiDesign’s audio software, Pro Tools for Macs, is being used in the Millennium Dome’s twice-daily show.
The music for the show, composed by Peter Gabriel, was built up using the music-editing software.
Audio-design consultants Technical Earth run the Millennium Dome's ambisonic surround-sound system. The company supplied a number of Pro Tools MIXplus systems to cope with the production schedule. Also supplied were an expanded 56 channel Pro Tools MIXplus system, a second expanded 40 channel Pro Tools system, and a 24 channel Pro Tools system for editing and listening in one of the Dome's audio-edit suites.
Unlike other ingredients in the Dome's mix, the Pro Tools devices have worked flawlessly since New Years Day.
