Growing use of digital cameras, digital audio and digital video products is driving the need for storage, the analysts claim.
They expect unit sales of consumer network storage will grow by more than 50 per cent over the next several years.
"During 2005, five more primary vendors entered the network storage market with product lines that targeted consumers," says Joyce Putscher, In-Stat analyst. "That almost doubles the number of major players that participated in 2004."
The North American, Japanese and European markets will present the greatest opportunities over the next few years, they said in the report: "Consumer Network Storage: Many Vendors Enter Market".
