Apple may launch new iPod shuffle models in 4GB and 6GB capacities, according to DigiTimes.
The news source makes its claims in a report that states Apple to have hired another Taiwanese firm to make iPod components - Taiwan Green Point. The latter has been booked to make iPod cases, it said, citing a report in the Commercial Times.
The reported capacities have not been confirmed. However, Apple is unlikely to leave any stone unturned in its attempt to consolidate and preserve market share.
The company is understood to have made major internal investments in building systems to maintain the iPod's market lead.
Other Taiwanese firms making iPod components include: Foxlink (Cheng Uei Precision Industry), Advanced-Connectek (Acon), Mustang Industrial and Ji-Haw Industrial.
