Miglia Technologies has launched DV-INabler, which activates DV-Out capability in digital camcorders.
Due to European law, camcorders shipped in Europe often have only DV-Out enabled. Cameras with DV-In are subject to more tax as they are considered video recorders. DV-INabler downloads the code required to activate the DV-In functionality of a camcorder.
Miglia DV-INabler supports a range of Canon, Sony, Panasonic and JVC camcorders. A camcorder compatibility list for DV-INabler is available on Miglia’s Web site. The camcorder can be restored to its factory settings at a touch of a button.
Ian Matthews, Miglia's managing director, said: "Although DV-INabler is principally a product destined for the European market, it will be available worldwide through Miglia's distribution channel."
DV-INabler costs £69 (price excludes VAT).
