DVForge is squaring up for a fight with XtremeMac over the latter's claim to be the first to market with accessories for the iPod shuffle.

The company takes issue with XtremeMac's February 28 launch of its range of accessories for the iPod shuffle. Specifically, XtremeMac's claim to be "the first company to complement that expanded reach with hip, new accessories."

DVForge CEO Jack Campbell says: "Our own The Clips set of three mounting accessories for the iPod shuffle were announced on February 4th, and will begin shipping to
customers before March 20th."

One other company may take issue with the claims however. Speck Products announced on January 14 that they would ship a case for the iPod shuffle. Designed with shock-absorbing, tear-resistant plastic, the company claims that its SkinTight for iPod Shuffle case "adds protection without adding bulk." Although scheduled to begin shipping in February the SkinTight is still "coming soon" according to the company's Web site.
