European music player sales are predicted to climb 140 per cent in 2004, research claims.
Research Group GFK anticipates that 4.3 million music players will be sold in the territory, with the biggest sales rise in France. In that territory, the analysts anticipate a 240 per cent increase in sales - 800,000 units.
The report indicates a market preference for smaller-capacity devices, reports DigitalMusicNews. The German market will see 100 per cent growth, with 1.8 million units sold this year.
Informa Media recently estimated that music-player sales will reach over 20 million units this year.
"The first decade of the new century is being dominated by the transition away from removable media towards digital-audio players," the analysts said.
