Japanese firm Logitec has announced the world's first external Blu-ray disc writing solution for Macs.
The system is called the Logitec LBD-A2FU2/WM external Blu-ray disc writer. It features both a Firewire and a USB 2.0 interface. Sofware suppot comes in the form of Roxio Toast 7 Titanium on Mac OS X.
The solution employs a Panasonic-built drive. It will burn single-layer (25GB) and double-layer (50GB) discs at 2x speeds. It also offers CD and DVD playback and burning.
The drives are set to cost "around £600".
