Apple has released an update for Final Cut Express, bringing it to version 1.0.1.
The 12.2MB update is available for download and is meant for systems running Mac OS X 10.2.2 and QuickTime 6.0.2.
The application is a stripped-down version of the company's video-editing solution Final Cut pro. Express offers most of the features of Pro, excepting support for some broadcast-quality file formats, such as HD. It also lacks support for AfterEffects plug-ins, and Edit Decision Lists.
Final Cut Express 1.0.1 introduces: advanced performance and stability; linked keyframe parameters to the Motion tab; and adds NTSC and PAL non-controllable device presets in the Easy Setup window.
In related news, Apple also issued a second X11 update, bringing its X Windows solution to version 0.2.1. The new update features only one change: the installer now defaults to replacing /etc/X11, to use quartz-wm instead of twm. Other features of this update are identical to those announced Tuesday.
