Macromedia has released the final version of Flash Player 7, and a selection of demos of its recently-upgraded MX 2004 products.
Flash Player 7 now performs almost as fast on a Mac as it does on a PC, the company claims. An improved compiler in Flash, together with improvements in the Player, mean performance has been improved up to ten times in common applications, it said. End users of Flash applications will see faster graphics, video playback, component initialization and better memory handling, it claimed.
Demos of MX 2004 versions of Dreamweaver, Flash, Fireworks, and Studio, as well as Flash MX Professional, are available for download from the company. Registration is required.
This iteration of Macromedia's products focuses on making projects faster to complete with workflow, technology and cross-product integration improvements.
Full-version pricing is: Dreamweaver, £339; Flash, £419; Flash MX Professional, £579; Fireworks, £249; and Macromedia Studio, £699. Prices include VAT.
