Macromedia has released an update for Flash 5.0.
The update, Flash 5.0a, fixes several bugs and has been developed specifically for the Mac version of the authoring program.
It addresses an incompatibility problem with the Sound Panel and makes the export of large Flash files, such as movies containing Smart Clips, less prone to crashes.
GIF export The update also repairs a problem found in the English version of the application, in which exporting Flash-generated files in animated GIF formats could cause a crash if the command was accessed from the File menu.
Additional problems have also been fixed - moving an object using the arrow keys no longer causes a crash. Finally, drag-&-dropping a frame into a timeline layer with no blank frame in the layer's first frame will no longer cause a crash.
More information regarding the update is available from Macormedia's support page.
