Freeserve, the UK’s first Internet service provider (ISP) to offer a free service, is now Mac-friendly.
The company, owned by UK retail giant Dixons, began offering free access in September 1998, with PC users only able to take advantage. Now, demand has persuaded the company to produce a Mac-compatible CD containing software for getting online.
Freeserve offers free unlimited email addresses, 15MB of Web space, and no registration or subscription charges. Internet access is charged at the local call-rate, but calls to the 24-hour technical support line are charged at premium rate.
The software is available from Dixons, PC World, Currys, the Link or @jakarta. For further details phone 0990 500049.
