Freeserve has announced a 24-hour, seven-days-a-week, unmetered Internet-access package that will launch in January.
Consumers will pay a flat-rate fee of £12.99 per month for Internet access, which includes subscription and telephone costs.
The service - Freeserve AnyTime - is based on FRIACO (Flat Rate Internet Access Call Origination), BT’s wholesale unmetered Internet access product.
Under this service, BT offers other operators a flat rate tariff to its exchange, with an additional metered tariff from that exchange over its network to the operators network.
Freeserve claims this is the cheapest FRIACO-based service on the market - rivals AOL charge £14.99 per month.
