The wait for a G5 PowerBook is likely to be a long one, a senior Apple executive has revealed.

Apple vice-president of hardware product marketing Greg Joswiak told the BBC: "The G5 is part of our long-term processor road map but it will be some time before that processor will be in a notebook."

in related news, Apple is hoping that sales of its notebooks will be boosted by recent upgrades and price reductions.

iBooks and PowerBooks accounted for just under 50 per cent of Mac sales in the last quarter.
