Sibelius Software yesterday introduced its G7 Guitar tablature-authoring software for Mac OS X and Windows.
Launched at US music event NAMM, G7 offers a new way for guitarists and songwriters to produce and convert guitar tablature.
The manufacturer's claim G7 creates tabs faster and easier than ever before, including the addition of lyrics and chord symbols. The solution can also instantly create lead sheets or piano, vocal and guitar arrangements.
Guitarists can enter tabs using an interactive fretboard, mouse, keystrokes, playing live, or scanning. The solution supports all guitar tunings and number of strings. It also contains a drum-pattern generator.
G7 can scan a tab and turn it into notation, or vice versa. The application is capable of reading and saving ASCII tabs and MIDI file formats, so music can be shared by email or over the Internet.
It will cost $149 and ships in the first quarter 2003.
