Google has released a free Mac version of its recently acquired SketchUp 3D-modelling software.
SketchUp has also been integrated with Google Earth, so designs can be integrated with that popular mapping application, Google said.
The free version of SketchUp is for personal use only. It is based on the existing SketchUp Pro 5, a fee-based version with a commercial licence and more-advanced features.
Google also offers tutorials, tools and advice for users of the application.
The company acquired SketchUp developer @Last Software in March this year. At the time the smaller company said: "Google's resources will allow us to serve our current users better, and Google's reach will allow us to expose more people to SketchUp in one year than we could have touched in ten years on our own. '3D for Everyone' is becoming a reality."
