3dfx Interactive has released the Voodoo4 4500 PCI graphics card for Mac in the US, the product is expected to reach the UK in the next two weeks.

This is the second officially supported graphics card for the Mac from 3dfx.

The Voodoo4 4500 PCI card costs £136 (excluding VAT). It features fully-integrated and accelerated 2D/3D rendering capability. It makes use of a 350MHz RAMDAC which helps deliver high-refresh rates at high resolutions. It supports 32-bit colour resolutions at up to 2,048-x-1,536 pixels. It carries 32MB VRAM, a VGA connector and a DVI connector.

Like 3dfx's Voodoo5 5500, the Voodoo4 4500 uses 3dfx's VSA-100 chipset.

The card has been developed to meet the needs of professional designers and publishing houses, and carries native support for Glide, QuickDraw 3D, Open GL and QuickTime.
