Hermstedt has stressed that it is streamlining its UK presence rather than closing down its operation. The statement follows revelations that the company let its UK headquarters staff go last month.
A Hermstedt spokesperson said: "The company is currently restructuring in the UK, and moving to new offices. We can confirm certain organizational and personnel changes, and that tech support will be handled by Hermstedt Germany for a short interim period.
"Our motivated team of sales and support engineers are dedicated to continuing the promotion and support of our products throughout the UK."
Company chairman and founder Jorg Hermstedt said: "There's no doubt that in terms of speed, ADSL has been a great breakthrough for Internet access. However, It is not always available, and as such, ISDN products will still be required by users with no access to ADSL.
"ISDN point-to-point connections remain the leading technology in terms of security – a key factor for many design agencies and publishers."
Computers Unlimited continues to stock Hermstedt products.
