Pramati Technologies has released its flagship application server product, Pramati Server 3.0, for Mac OS X.

Pramati Server 3.0 is the first J2EE 1.3 (Java 2 Enterprise Edition) application server to be implemented on OS X. It offers a number of capabilities defined in the J2EE 1.3 standard, such as the Java Messaging Service. This improves the way applications create, send, receive, and read messages.

Mac OS X users will benefit from Enterprise JavaBean (EJB) 2.0. EJB is component architecture for developing and deploying component-based, server-distributed business applications.

Pramati Server 3.0 also works in any J2EE-compliant development environment. A free, standalone copy of Server 3.0 for testing and debugging code is available from the company’s Web site.

Ron Okamoto, Apple’s vice president of worldwide developer relations, said: “Pramati Server 3.0 is an important technology for midsize companies that want to get to market fast with J2EE applications. We’re excited that Pramati is joining our growing list of Java developers, and we believe that Pramati Server for OS X provides a compelling solution for delivering J2EE-class functionality”.
