IBM has no plans to abandon Apple support in its software products, a report claims.

Instead, IBM intends introducing Mac OS X support to its Lotus Notes 7 product, CRN claims.

Ken Bisconti, IBM's vice president of Workplace, Portal and Collaboration products said last week to "stay tuned" for Mac-related news.

The move is seen as part of IBM's over-arching plan to ensure Windows isn't a critical requirement for any of its software products.

Judith Hurwitz, president of Hurwitz & Associates told CRN she expects IBM to do all it can, once again, to marginalise Windows: "They do not want Windows to be the gate to everything," she said.
