Motorola has signed up Madonna, Iggy Pop, and other music stars to feature in advertising for the iTunes phone.

Brand Republic reports: "Motorola has signed an artist from every generation to appear in the ads, including Little Richard, Bootsy Collins, Lil' John, The White Stripes, Sleater-Kinney, Sum 41, Mya, Pussycat Dolls and Billie Joe from Green Day."

Negotiations are taking place with The White Stripes, Alanis Morissette and The Bravery. And look-alikes of Jimi Hendrix and Beethoven have also been booked for the ads, which see the stars singing in a phone box.

"The ads may debut from next week, at the same time the Motorola phone with iPod personal music system is launched," the report explains.

Apparently, the device is to be called the Motorola Rokr.

The Mobile Gazette has published what it claims are official images of the new device taken from a Motorola Russia press kit. These are available here.
