MacSpeech is shipping a CD version of iListen 1.0, its speech-recognition program for the Mac.
The product has been available for download since November. The application was developed in co-operation with Philips Speech Processing, using that company's FreeSpeech 2000 speech engine. It permits a Mac user to dictate into virtually any application.
Jason Weber, lead programmer for Microsoft's Mac business unit, said: "I have rarely seen two products complement each other like iListen and Microsoft Office 2001 for Mac. It's productivity and simplicity at its finest."
iListen costs $109.95 for the CD version (without a headset) and the price includes a free upgrade to the next version. MacSpeech also sells analogue and USB headsets through its Web site.
