Traffic on Apple's Web site more than doubled on the launch day of the new iMac, research shows.
A study by online-stats company webHancer shows the level of hits on January 7 was 107 per cent higher than usual. The study also showed that traffic was markedly increased up to January 11. The full results are available online.
Rumour and hype before the iMac launch stimulated traffic, webHancer claims, adding that users were more prepared than usual to endure slow download times in order to learn details of the new iMacs, iPhoto and iBook.
