Internet Video Magazine has announced its first iMovie-making contest.
Sponsored by iMovie special effects developer GeeThree and Bella Keyboards, the contest is open to all aspiring video-makers – but the videos must be generated entirely using Apple's Mac-only iMovie software.
Mark Shapiro, the magazine's Internet video guru said: "Yes, your movie should have a plot – but we want to be amazed. It's not Sundance or Cannes and we encourage all amateurs to enter.
"We started with an iMovie contest because many of Internet Video Magazine's writers and contributors use Apple computers and Apple-based video editing solutions like iMovie, QuickTime and Final Cut."
Winning movies will be hosted online. The first place winner gets an iPod and an HP Wireless Digital Media receiver. The second place movie gets the GeeThree iMovie plug-in collection, while the third place movie gets an editing keyboard.
Rules and entry forms are available online.
