Apple has issued a range of firmware updates for all current Intel Mac models, barring Mac mini.
The company has also issued a revised version of its Firmware Restoration CD 1.4 (30MB).
This software is available for download, and is used to restore the firmware on an Intel Mac after an interrupted or unsuccessful update. Users must burn the restoration software to a CD if they want to use it to repair a problem Intel Mac.
Firmware updates are available for the Mac Pro, iMac, MacBook, MacBook Pro and the Xserve. These are available with different version numbers for different models. For example, the MacBook update is v.1.1, while the MacBook Pro Firmware Update is version 1.4.
Most of the updates are designed to address Boot Camp issues and to improve performance and reliability on the Macs. The MacPro update also benefits from some improvement in fan behaviour.
With the exception of the Firmware Restoration CD 1.4, all the updates are available through Software Update, and via direct download from Apple's Support website.
