Following a cut in the US at the start of the week, Apple UK has slashed the price on its iSub USB sub-woofer from £79 (inc. VAT; £67 ex. VAT) to £49 (£41.70 ex. VAT).
The Apple-designed Harman Kardon's iSub subwoofer for the iMac and Power Mac G4 computers was introduced in July 2000 and January 2001 respectively.
This subwoofer produces stereo-quality sound for music, movies and games, and is optimized to work for Harman Kardon integrated speakers. The 20-watt powered subwoofer offers a USB digital interface and bass response down to 44Hz.
The iSub works only with slot-loading CD/DVD/CD-RW iMacs running Mac OS 9.0.4 or later, and G4 Power Macs that were introduced on or after January 2001 with Apple Pro Speakers connected and Mac OS 9.1. The iSub will not work on the Power Mac G4 if you have third-party speakers connected.
The Harman Kardon SoundSticks, which ship with the iSub, remain at £139 (inc. VAT; £118.30 ex. VAT).
