Nokia has swiftly denied reports claiming it had reached a deal with Apple to include iTunes support in a future mobile phone.
Taloussanomat, a local Finnish daily newspaper had claimed that Nokia's next-generation multimedia handset, the N91, would support Apple's music service.
However, Nokia also said that the way it has designed its phone would allow developers to produce applications to allow the device to use iTunes, Reuters reports.
Nokia said Apple could easily develop iTunes support for the N91, if it so chose.
"There is no commercial agreement between Nokia and Apple to integrate iTunes into the N-series devices," Kari Tuutti, spokesman for Nokia's multimedia division told Reuters.
