iWork is emerging as the second most well-used productivity software after Microsoft Office.
New research revealed by the NPD Group and reported by CNet News.com claims that Apple's solution has shouldered aside the previous second-place holder, Corel's WordPerfect Office suite.
Despite this, the figures are tiny: Apple took 2.7 per cent of the market to Corel's 1.6 per cent. Microsoft Office continues to dominate, with 95 per cent of sales.
On the Mac, iWork accounted for 17.4 per cent of the market, compared to about 82 per cent for Microsoft.
