Apple's managing director of European operations Joe Gantly is stepping down after six years.
Gantly said he had resigned in order to "concentrate on other business activities", according to Ireland's Business World. He declined to say what these opportunities are.
He said: "I am evaluating a number of external options." He will continue working with Apple, and the parting is described as "amicable", according to the report.
Gantly will become chairman of the proposed board of Cork Airport, the report adds.
