LaCie has extended its manufacturer's warranty across many of its products.

The warranty covering its high-end solutions has been raised to three years. The company has also fielded a selection of services designed to make it easier for customers with faulty drives to find replacement and repair under the warranty.

Examples of this include a new on-site advance replacement option that will allow them to swap storage products without needing to send the faulty product back first.

The company has also extended the warranty supplied with its consumer products to two years. This covers the company's professional consumer products, but extends to most other LaCie storage products.

The company's professional products include its RAID solutions, the d2 Quadra, the 2big Family, the Rugged Triple Interface and all monitors.

LaCie’s new warranty scheme is effective immediately. For Solution models that come standard with three-year warranties, the optional advance replacement warranty is available for purchase up to 30 days after receipt of product.

LaCie general manager, Pierre van der Elst, says: “Our goal is to meet customers’ high expectations by assuring product quality for extended periods while providing options for those not wanting to send items back and wait for repairs.”
