Apple has announced its Up-to-Date scheme for recent Mac purchasers looking to migrate to Mac OS X 10.5.

The company is offering customers who purchased a qualifying Mac the chance to purchase a copy of the new operating system for just £5.95 (€8.95, Ireland), if they acquired their computer since 1 October.

The deal extends to both Mac OS X and Mac OS X Server. It times out on 29 December. Orders must be postmarked by 4 January, 2008.

Customers who purchased multiple qualifying systems on a single invoice can either purchase a Single-User Upgrade Kit for each qualifying product, at a cost of £5.95 (UK) / €8.95 (Ireland); or purchase fewer Single-User Upgrade Kits and request the Right to Copy for the remaining qualifying products.

Full details of the scheme are available here.
