Leading Linux developer Merlin Software Technologies has announced that it will support Mac OS X in future releases of PerfectBACKUP+ and other products.
Robert Heller, president of the company, said: "We joined the Apple Developer program last year after we received a number of inquiries regarding our product availability for the platform. We are confident that Mac OS X will be a successful part of Apple’s strategy."
Merlin develops applications software for Linux, including PerfectBACKUP+6.2, its network back-up tool. The application offers back-up scheduling and remote recovery, encryption, automation, and security features through both a graphical and character interface.
Merlin has also been preparing products for earlier versions of the Mac OS, and will announce these at a later date.
