Sony Online Entertainment is preparing to release EverQuest for Mac next month.
A message from the company reveals: "On June 23 Mac users everywhere will be able to immerse themselves in what hundreds of thousands have already experienced - a land with no limits to the imagination, where excitement and myth reign supreme."
The company has been developing the Mac version of its hugely-successful PC title for almost a year. The Mac version of the multiplayer online adventure game offers the basic title, plus four more titles released as expansion packs for the PC release. These include The Ruins of Kunark, The Scars of Velious, The Shadows of Luclin and The Planes of Power.
EverQuest launched in 1999 and has sold over two million copies. Sony calls it "the largest online 3D fantasy world ever created". During peak moments of gaming activity up to 118,000 players have explored EverQuest simultaneously.
Pricing has not yet been announced.
