Hewlett-Packard has made its OfficeJet G series all-in-one printer Mac-compatible.
The printer offers colour scanning, faxing and colour copying. The device needs HP’s JetDirect 300X external print-server solution to work over a network.
It scans at 600-x-3,600dpi, copies in black-&-white at up to 12 copies per minute, and can copy colour pages at up to nine copies per minute.
Bundled HP Director and HP Workplace come bundled with the system. The printer previously lacked Mac software, and customers who purchased an HP Officejet G series machine can obtain free Mac software after September 4 by calling 0870 606 9081.
Available in October, the product comes in two models: the £255 G55 printer/scanner/copier; and the £385 G85 – which includes print, fax, scanning and copier functions, and includes a 30-page document feeder and optional two-sided printing. Both products will be available online from October 1.
