Mac-only Internet Service Provider MacAce.net has launched an evening and weekend unmetered Internet access package called HomeFree.
HomeFree is available from 6pm-8am Monday to Friday, and from 6pm Friday to 8am Monday. Calls are charged at local rates at all other times. The service will be available from April 5 to any Mac OS, including OS X.
Online sign-up is available from MacAce.net's Web site. Set-up is achieved within 24 hours according to MacAce.net.
The HomeFree package costs £12 per month inclusive. Users get two email addresses and Mac-specific telephone support charged at national rates.
Gary Hall, MacAce MD, said: "For once, a Mac-only service is first on the market to challenge BT's dominance of this area. We're aware of the criticism and problems with regular Surftime packages at peak time and have designed a service to overcome this. We want Mac users to enjoy a better unmetered Internet service and are confident we can provide just this with HomeFree."
MacAce.net will continue to offer MacSurftime in partnership with BT, but plans to encourage users to try the HomeFree service instead.
The ISP also offers HomeFree24, which provides unmetered and unlimited access for £16 per month.
