The first beta of Mac OS X 10.6.7 is in the hands of developers, just two weeks after Mac OS X 10.6.6 was released to the public.

While it's unlikely that the updated version will bring anything as significant as the Mac App Store, it is expected to contain security and bug fixes.

Developers have been asked to focus on AirPort, Bonjour, SMB file sharing and graphics drivers, according to Apple Insider.

It's a 338.6MB download and is being called Build 10J842. Apple states that there are no known issues with the beta in its release documentation.

Mac OS X 10.6.6 was first seeded to developers in November 2010, almost exactly two months before the final release.

Mac OS X 10.7, a.k.a. Lion, is slated for a summer release and is expected to contain elements of some iOS features and more advanced support for multi-touch gestures.
