PalmSource has ended development of Palm Desktop for Mac, the company announced at its developer conference PalmSource this week.
An independent report states that "Mac synchronization is something the Palm OS used to offer, but won't any more."
"As the way personal information manager applications work has changed significantly, this means Mac users won't be able to HotSync without third-party software," a report on Brighthand states.
It appears an independent developer has emerged who will furnish compatibility between Mac and Palm OSes, Mark/Space will release a version of its popular Missing Sync application that will let Mac users fully use their Palm devices, including Bluetooth and Wi-Fi HotSyncing.
"The company is open to licensing its application to Palm OS licensees who want to add Mac OS X synchronization to their handhelds," the report says.
