Apple's iPod is energizing Mac sales to US students, reports USA Today.
"Many students, after falling in love with the iPod, are packing for college with new Apple Macintosh computers," the report claims.
Anecdotal reports from college-based Apple resellers confirm the news, with one saying: "When I started, people wouldn't even look at Macs. Everyone came in wanting a PC. This year, two-thirds of them want Macs".
A store at the University of Arizona reports Mac sales have climbed 50 per cent - from four in ten to six in ten of computers sold.
"Students love their iPod, so now they're considering using an Apple computer," says Apple Vice President Greg Joswiak. "We love that."
