Cadsoft Solutions is introducing its new Concepts Unlimited application for Mac OS X at MacExpo today.
This conceptual computer-aided design (CCAD) package is described by the company as the "industry's first modelling application 100 per cent focused on conceptual and preliminary design."
Fetaures include photo-realistic rendering and animation, and precision drawing capabilities. All the product's features are accessed through an easy-to-navigate user interface, and it includes a collection of 2D, 3D, surface, and solid modelling tools. Users can define which tools they need for a particular project.
Tools include spline creation and modification commands, 17 surface construction methods, blending, chamfering, shelling, and more. Uses can associate different modelling operations to each other so they can easily make changes to finished projects.
Concepts Unlimited will produce high-resolution images at up to poster size. Creations can be saved in a variety of formats, including: JPEG, BMP, EPS or QuickTimeVR.
It ships with a number of drawing templates, which can be annotated. Data can be shared with a variety of CAD design packages.
The product costs £2,495. A special MacExpo offer means new licences cost just £1,495 at the show.
