Macromedia has completed the acquisition of Mobile Innovation, a user interface (UI) designer, developer, and integrator for mobile devices.
Macromedia is hoping the purchase will help it develop better solutions within the mobile markets as it attempts to advance the cause of its Flash technology.
The acquisition will create a mobile consulting practice for Macromedia, which will form part of the Macromedia Consulting team in EMEA. The two firms began working together in January, with Mobile Innovation creating and developing a range of Flash-based concept user interfaces for handset manufacturers and network operators.
Mobile Innovation customers include handset manufacturers, network operators, and semiconductor suppliers. The company helped develop many devices based on the Symbian OS (Series 60, Series 80, Series 90, and UIQ).
Mobile Innovation will integrate into the Macromedia Consulting team, led by Peter Lelliott. Matt Millar, Mobile Innovation co-founder and CTO, will lead the Mobile and Devices practice for Macromedia in EMEA.
Steve Miller, vice president of Macromedia EMEA said: "We are thrilled to welcome Mobile Innovation to Macromedia, and we believe this will add tremendous value to our mobile business."
