IDG World Expo today announced that Macworld CreativePro Conference & Expo in New York will serve as the venue for the third Final Cut Pro User Group (FCPUG) Network Theater. The event takes place on the expo show floor from July 16-18, 2003, and it showcases films created by FCPUG members who use Final Cut Pro in their work.
The booth will sport 15-minute showings of the best original works created by FCPUG Network members, screened on DVD in order to demonstrate Apple's DVD Studio Pro software as well.
Members of the UK Final Cut User Group can offer their work for consideration. The second meeting of the UKFCUG takes place tonight at London’s Business Design Centre from 6.30-9.30pm. More details on this meeting and how to join the user group (free registration) can be found here. Attendees at tonight’s meeting can win an £800 Deck-Link PCI card that allows for uncompressed video to be edited in Final Cut Pro.
FCPUG members from the UK, Atlanta, Boston, Chicago, Connecticut, New York, Philadelphia, Washington, Los Angeles, San Francisco, New Jersey, Quebec and Mexico City are expected to be part of the event. Attendees who stop by the booth will learn how motion picture graphics artists and others use Final Cut Pro in their work.
What's more, July's Macworld CreativePro gathering also features a "Level 2" conference program that features more than 15 sessions aimed at Final Cut Pro, Final Cut Express, and other Mac-specific tools for digital video professionals.
And on Thursday, July 17 the FCPUG Network will present "All Things FCP 4 and DVD Studio Pro 2," an evening event that kicks off at 5PM in the Grand Ballroom at the New Yorker Hotel. The even features Final Cut Pro product designer Brian Meaney, Final Cut Pro 4 product manager Paul Saccone, and DVD Studio Pro 2 product manager Brian Schmidt.
